Born in Prague, Libor took up a scholarship to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 2002 with first-class honours. He went on to win the Concert Recital Diploma, the Guildhall’s highest award and has recently completed his studies as a postgraduate Fellow on the Masters course. Libor was selected for representation by the Young Concert Artists Trust in 2003.

ZUM Trio, Violin, ‘Cello and Accordion, combines the fire and brilliance of Eastern European gypsy fiddle music with the hot-bloodied passion of Argentinian Tango. Their performance includes ‘Nuevo Tango’ masterpieces by Astor Piazolla and music from the golden era of Tango, alongside addictive traditional melodies and dazzling virtuoso fiddling. The band’s own material, inspired by both gypsy and tango, is lightly spiced with a host of influences, including bluegrass, calypso, jazz, klezmer and bebop.

Stephen has regularly taken lead roles with the Britten-Pears Young Artists Programme at Snape, as well as performing regularly with Lindy Tennent-Brown. Lindy, a native of New Zealand, has been described by the New Zealand Daily News as ‘a pianist of striking artistry’. Lindy is a Wigmore Young Artist, and made her Wigmore Hall debut in 2003, partnering Ann Murray and Ronan Collett.

Their recital will include works by Armstrong Gibbs, Benjamin Britten and Ivor Gurnery, as well as Vaughan Williams’ Songs of Travel, and takes place at the Wyastone Concert Hall.
